Alfa - firemní školky (Company day care)

Our company was founded in 2006. It employs both foreign and local professionals with many years of experience in the area of preschool education. We put a strong emphasis not only on experience but also on a positive approach to child care. Our executive team comprises of an experienced founder and manager of commercial, company and non-profit preschools, as well as several mothers, to ensure a balanced and personal approach. We cooperate with prominent architects and artists, who form an integral part of each of our company preschool project teams.

Let us briefly introduce the management team:

Klára Šedivá, MA, graduated from a specialized secondary school with a nursing degree and started working at an Anesthesia-Resuscitation Department of a cardiological unit. In 2001 she received her Master’s degree at Charles University in special education and art for the handicapped. During her career she focused on music therapy and pedagogy. She has always been interested in alternative child education, especially during the preschool age. At the beginning of the nineteen-nineties, she founded a successful professional agency, the Klara Agency, where she offers alternative child care for working parents. Many of her clients are busy managers, who have to find a balance between their working and family lives. As a result of the close cooperation with these parents the first Czech-English mini preschool in Františkánská zahrada was opened.

Among her other activities are the education of pedagogical personnel in the fields of preschool language education, child adaptation to the school environment, first aid for those working with children, etc. She organizes pedagogical and education conferences, as well as organizing winter and leisure activities for children and teenagers.

Zora Kounovská, MA, graduated from the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, in Czech and Anglo-American Studies, pedagogical stream. She was awarded Certificate of Proficiency in English by University of Cambridge. She worked as an interpreter for BBC and at conferences in different fields.

She gained skills and expertise from working with Akcent International House Prague for several years. An important contribution to her professional life was also her stay in the USA where she took part in a project of a Day-Care center for american children of pre-school age and arts projects with children and young adults. During her career she taught English to students of different ages, including English for pre-school children, creating curricula and teaching materials.
